Message from Pastor Kristian
Mission 10 is CLA’s strategic approach to expand the Kingdom of God, which you can read more about on our Missions page. Our ongoing monthly missions giving is so valuable as we support approximately 200 missionaries and fund projects associated with missions trips around the world. We encourage you to give to Mission 10 to help support our missionaries and help fund the remaining missions trips for 2025.
To each of you who has given to our special Mission 10 offering, thank you! If you have not had a chance but would still like to give, please visit our Give page and select “Mission 10.” Thank you for your support and prayers as we look ahead to the second half of 2025 and all that God will continue to do!

Ways to Serve Our Community
Recently, a team of 18 students and adults from CLA responded to the call to use their gifts and talents at River of Life Assembly in Sunbury, PA. The ongoing partnership between our churches shows unity in the body of Christ.
Whether you are a skilled construction worker, a willing servant or a smiling face offering food, You Belong! We encourage you to pray about serving as an individual or with your family or friends at one or more of these upcoming opportunities to help make a difference in our local community.

…But What? | Boone, NC
“When Helene first hit North Carolina and Tennessee, it affected me personally. Even though my wife and I have never lived there, we have vacationed in that area more than once. Seeing the devastation on screen was hard to watch. The little communities and family businesses that we once walked through on vacation were devastated. My heart went out to those affected, and I couldn't escape the feeling that I needed to do something, but what?
I knew in my heart that sitting around doing nothing was not an option, but there was not an organized trip to go. I felt so strongly to do something, that I organized a small group of people, and we partnered with Samaritan’s Purse and later CLA and committed to go. I was excited, but then once I thought about what that entailed, I became a bit anxious and worried. I'm not proud about that, but what I agreed to came with a lot of responsibility, and it was not a role I was used to.
Looking back, I can see God's hand working behind the scenes, and how He began to put things in place for what would turn out to be five trips to Boone, NC for storm relief. We built access bridges and even a tiny home, but with so many people losing electricity to their homes, I felt impressed to take a load of generators.
Although it seemed like a tall order, it was amazing to see how God filled my truck with a full load of donated generators from so many generous people, including several from CLA. Pastor Wes, whom we were working with, later shared that the load of generators went to people who had to shelter in place for long periods of time and were stranded without power. Some of these people were elderly individuals who desperately needed to power their oxygen machines. God answered their prayers, and He allowed me to be a part of it as the "hands and feet of Jesus.”
I encourage you to use the gifts and talents God has given you so that you can share His goodness with others. I'm 62 years old, and I'm embarrassed at how little I had done for the Lord most of my adult life. CLA has made serving Jesus and others through a missions trip so easy. This proved to be a life-changing experience for me, and I want to encourage anyone thinking about going on a missions trip to say YES. Take a step of faith and watch God work out the details. When you see Him do great things, it WILL change your life.” – Wes Ketner

Hope For McDowell – Jolo, WV | August 16-23, 2025 (Deadline June 15)
The recent flooding in Jolo, WV, along with the ongoing opioid crisis, continues to impact families and the community in a negative way. But, out of bad comes good, and the Kingdom of God works together in great ways. Some of the team members who were returning from North Carolina brought donated supplies from those who were in the midst of their own crisis to give to the people of Jolo. This act of compassion reminds us of the importance at looking beyond our comfort and abilities and saying YES to the call of God.
It is now your turn to help make a positive impact by joining a team that will go in August to assist with minor home renovations that will be life-changing for local families, in addition to other potential projects in the church and community. Join the Story
CLA is going to the hard places so that the Gospel message can be heard by all. As a Christ follower, God has prepared and equipped you so that you can be a difference maker. Below are a few opportunities and reminders.
Indonesia | September 15-25, 2025 (Deadline June 15) – If your heart desires to help students grow in leadership and ministry, this is the trip for you! The House of Hope is a youth mentoring/discipleship complex established over 20 years ago where students age 12+, who show leadership potential, are selected from villages to be trained in English, music, sports, business and ministry.
Now led by the newly appointed missionaries Mike and Diane Masse, additional opportunities are being established in a place where there are no video games or other distractions, and every child wants to be in a gang – good or bad. The introduction of Royal Rangers is providing the opportunity for boys, girls and their families to find a good place to belong. So far, eight outposts have been established within the 2,000 islands, and every one of these outposts is thriving.
__________
Belgium | October 17-25, 2025 (Deadline July 15) – This trip consists of construction and outreach opportunities. Whether you are skilled or have limited construction skills, your help is needed for various projects at the Continental Theological Seminary. You can also join the women’s ministry outreach team that will serve on the front lines at a coffee shop; this is a covert human trafficking rescue center. (Training will be provided.)
__________
India | (Tentative) November 6-16 (Deadline July 15) – This team will provide vocational training to women who have been rescued from the sex trafficking industry by providing them with the essential skills to rebuild their lives. If you have any trade or skill that is beneficial to teach, or if you desire to show the love of Jesus by simply painting nails or doing facials, then this is the team for you!
Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a professional, and there are translators present at all times who will help you communicate. Not sure if your trade, skill or talent is relevant to this trip? Reach out and ask at missions@clacamphill.com because we are always looking for new ideas!

Soccer Church? | King’s Castle, El Salvador
CLA has had a long-lasting relationship with King’s Castle, and 2025 brought new opportunities. Always looking for cutting-edge ways to reach and minister to the children of El Salvador, King’s Castle Soccer was conceptualized.
A few months later, a team of six individuals got on a plane and went to El Salvador to expand the impact of Jesus in the country through soccer. The four-day training seminar provided opportunities for the 30+ ministry leaders to learn a new way to minister to the children and youth in their country. The last day of the training included a tournament with nearly 100 children in attendance, which provided a successful start to a new ministry concept.
Because most competitive soccer in the country is played on Sunday morning (and gangs have had a stronghold on the sport for many years), church has often come second to soccer. With this new training and diminished gang activity within the country, King’s Castle Soccer has a unique opportunity to bridge the two worlds together by providing a day of soccer with teachings from the Bible to reach a whole new generation for Jesus.
A second multi-faceted team from CLA arrived a few days later to minister through evangelism, construction and medicine. But other gifts and talents were utilized; for example, a barber cut hair for medical patients waiting to see the doctor, and he also taught a few of the national students some new techniques in cutting hair so they can achieve a new end result.
We also had a team member who spent multiple hours a day interceding in prayer on the third level of the Prayer Fortress. This Fortress has a special place in the heart of those who have experienced it. It is a place where the movement of the Holy Spirit is widely seen through prophetic words, miracles, healings and so much more.
In total, the 10 days that the CLA teams were in El Salvador, God worked in great ways. Over 950 people decided to accept Jesus, many prayers were prayed, a church under construction was completed and a soccer ministry was birthed!

And the Walls Came Tumbling Down | Thailand
Known for its natural beauty and warm hospitality, Thailand welcomed a missions team of nine individuals from CLA with open arms. Because of the cultural and spiritual strongholds, the team prepared in advance by reading and discussing a book written by the missionary they would be serving with. This book provided insights regarding what to expect, how to be respectful while spiritually challenging the culture, and developing relationships to create the best opportunity possible when sharing the Gospel message. Below is a story from one of the team members.
__________
“The Lord had put Thailand on my heart many years ago, and I was able to go live there for 6 months through a study abroad program in 2012. After joining CLA in January 2020 and seeing the robust Mission 10 initiative, I was hoping a trip to Thailand would happen. As soon as I saw this trip open up, I signed up in faith and hoped the Lord would open all the doors with my schedule and finances, and He did.
I was excited to be going back to Thailand after all these years and to see what God was going to do this time. Intercession for the Thai people and the Buddhist world in the months leading up to our trip was huge, especially since, as a team, we studied the book "Change the Map" written by our host missionary Mark Durene. Unity and protection for our team was also on my mind, especially when a handful of people expressed their concerns to me about our team going into the spiritual darkness of the temples. I was also grateful at how generously people supported me financially so that I could go.
I wanted a front row seat to see what God is doing in Thailand, and boy did He deliver. I hoped that I would be an asset to the team and an extension of the long-term global workers who have been diligently plowing the field for centuries.
My time in Thailand contained many God moments, but there were a few that stood out. During one of our programs, there was a little boy who was not participating in any of the activities. When I sat down with him, he started pulling toy after toy out of his bucket and they were words I had brushed up on and knew like tiger, soldier, and flag! Then he pulled out a vehicle and in English said “fire truck” which is amazing because my job is driving fire trucks. It was special to be able to understand each other and find a way to connect.
Another moment was at the second temple we went to. We were praying the prayer points our missionary host Mark gave us and the storehouse next to the temple holding all the offerings for the idols came crashing to the ground. No one was hurt, and we watched God’s Glory come down with an immediate answer to prayer by literally bringing the house down.
Lastly, on Sunday we went to two churches and the second one we attended had a very special experience. I wasn’t singing or praying for anything specific but when I laid hands on one of the church members, there was an explosion in my heart that I hadn’t felt in many years. I was filled with the Holy Spirit and the church member burst into tears, so I’m pretty sure he was filled too.
As I share my story, I pray that you will take part in the short-term missions trips CLA offers because you will be blessed and changed by going and witnessing how God moves in all the earth. In Thailand, I saw how the rockiest terrain is softened by our Lord, and I realized that I have wasted 4,745 days not interceding for this people group. I don’t want to waste one more day. My prayer life is forever changed.” – Allison Shattuck
